Weekend Workshop : Art of Self-care: Intro to Qi Gong and Tai Chi. This special weekend workshop has been created to introduce to the SJ Island community the amazing Chinese arts of Tai Chi and Chi Gong. These two exquisite, ancient disciplines are intimately related, both in form and in spirit. Either one can stimulate powerful healing and profound inner growth. When the two are combined, the benefits are even greater.
February 21 & 22, 9:00am – 12:00 pm, 1:00 – 4:00 pm at Brickworks
Using these ancient arts, learn how to let go of what is inessential and tap into what is most true and meaningful about life.
By grounding deeply into the Earth we dissolve our anxieties and reclaim our original life-force. With sustained practice we grow more supple, happy and awakened.
This is the first time that such a dual-aspect workshop is being offered to the island community. Participants will have the choice of selecting 1, 2, 3 or all 4 sessions of the weekend workshop.
This exciting event is timed to celebrate the Chinese New Year, which begins on February 19th. 2015 is the Year of the Sheep, a highly auspicious year!
All sessions will be held at the Brickworks and presented by renowned teacher and healer Nicholas Corrin. This is the same easy-to-find location as Nicholas’s popular early morning Self-Care classes, which are held there every Tuesday and Thursday from 8 – 9 am.
This workshop is open to all, including beginners. It is also a very practical means to apply the essential teachings embedded in Nicholas’s acclaimed book, The Power of Letting Go.
What participants will learn:
- Correct breathing to calm the nerves
- Spatial awareness and sensory integration
- How to move with fluidity and grace
- How to integrate the mind within the body
- Self healing through gentleness and relaxation
- How to develop inner power and confidence
- How to become more deeply connected to the Earth
- How to regain spontaneity and innocence
- How to enhance the 2nd brain and intuition
$60 per session, $200 for whole weekend
