St. Patrick’s Day Extravaganza and Hawaiian Getaway Tickets on Sale Now!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 14 when Soroptimist International of Friday Harbor holds its 17th annual, ever popular, St. Patrick’s Day Extravaganza at the San Juan Island Yacht Club. Tickets are on sale now at Spa d Bune and The Toy Box for the $30.00 dinner auction, as well as raffle tickets you will not want to miss!

Once again, Soroptimists have created a Hawaiian Getaway raffle, featuring an oceanfront condo located on the beautiful garden island of Kauai. The resort is called Kapa’a Sands, Coconut Coast of Kaua’i. You can visit their website at www.kapaasands.com. Just look at what is included:

• Classic Cab ride RT from ferry terminal and the winner’s home on San Juan Island
• 2 RT seats from Bellair/Shuttle from Anacortes to Sea-Tac Airport
• 7 nights’ stay at the oceanfront, ground floor condo
• Dinner for 2 at Monico’s Taqueria, known for its fish tacos and burritos
• Luau and pageant for 2 at Smith Family Garden Luau (famous on the island!)

Extravaganza festivities begin at 5:00 p.m. on March 14, with appetizers and Irish music by our own local band, The Island Chordsmen. You will also have the opportunity to buy raffle tickets, peruse the live auction and dessert auction items, and enjoy a glass of wine from the no-host bar.

Dinner begins at 6:00 p.m., with a menu of Corned Beef and Cabbage, Shepherd’s Pie, or vegetarian option of Guinness Vegetable Stew, brought to you by Becki Day and Vinny’s Ristorante. The live auction and raffle drawing begins at 7:00 p.m., rounding out the evening. Keep in mind there is limited seating.

Soroptimist International of Friday Harbor has a mission to improve the lives of women and girls, locally, and around the globe. These fundraising monies go toward annual awards and scholarships for local women, ferry tickets for cancer treatment; emergency grants to women in need; regular support and volunteers for Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services of the San Juan Islands and Family Resource Center of San Juan Island; matching WIC payments at the San Juan Island Farmers Market, in a win-win situation that helps feed mothers and children, as well as helping out local farmers.
