A “Beatles” of an Independence Weekend!
After a summer without them in Friday Harbor, the island’s favorite Beatles tune masters “get back” to San Juan Community Theatre on Sunday, July 5 at 7:30 pm.
Since 2002, Abbey Road LIVE! has been rocking the music of the Beatles at theaters, clubs and festivals across the country. This will be the fifth time to the island since 2009 for the band from Athens, with each performance bringing in folks of all ages to share in the magic.
“Each time, these guys are here they light up the Whittier with full-blown energy— keeping most everyone on their feet, singing along to their favorite Beatles songs,” said SJCT Promotion Director Jan Bollwinkel-Smith.
Initially a tribute to the monumental Abbey Road album, the band has expanded its repertoire to include more than 100 Beatles tunes, from all eras of the Fab Four’s career.
Not your typical Beatle look-alike tribute act (don’t expect mop-top wigs and fake British accents), these guys are all about the MUSIC of the Beatles.
The Business Partner for the evening is Friday Harbor Suites. Tickets are $20 for adults; $10 for student reserved, with $5 student RUSH at the door. The SJCT box office is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 am to 2 pm or buy online at www.sjctheatre.org
