What We’re Reading

One of the pet projects of Update photographer Aaron Shepard is to take candid shots of people reading downtown and around the harbor. Later, when he zooms into the cover, he can sometimes easily identify the book being read. Other times, he might see only bits of the title or author’s name, and then identifying the book becomes a game. A little searching on the internet is usually enough to find a match for the cover.
Aaron has now posted some of those shots on his blog, An Islander’s Eye, with the books identified in the captions. He also included one photo with a book he couldn’t identify. Maybe you can help! (San Juan Library Director Laurie Orton has already left one guess in the comments.)
Check it out and see if you can guess the book.

I don’t mean to be rude, but this sounds a little stalker-ish creepy. Do you get the people’s permission before you post their pictures? Maybe just ask them, “Hey, what are you reading?”
