Tucker Avenue is now officially open… The ribbon cutting ceremony for Phase One happened yesterday and the plaque commemorating the event has been delivered for placement on the wall in the Town Council chamber.
Withstanding the frigid temperature were (Left to Right and Front to back) Becki Day, SJI Chamber Executive Director; Pedro Mena, Capital Projects Manager; Mayor Carrie Lacher, Wayne Haefele, Public Works Director & Town Engineer; Duncan Wilson, Town Administrator; Farhad Ghatan and Steve Hushebeck, Town Council Members; Greg Armstrong, Senior Transportation Engineer with the Washington State Transportation Improvement Board (TIB); and Victoria Compton, EDC Executive Director.
When asked why the delay for the ceremony, Duncan said “Greg’s busy season runs to the end of November. We finally got him up here!”
Phase Two of the Tucker Avenue project will happen in 2017 and will pick up where phase one left off just after Harbor Street and continue out to University Road.
