Coldwell Banker San Juan Islands, Inc. is a family owned company, originally  started in 1960 by Sam and Barbara Buck, as San Juan Properties, Inc., a real estate sales and development company.

Steve Buck joined the company in 1981. In 1984, the Buck family acquired a Coldwell Banker Franchise. (*see below for more info on that)

Steve Buck took over company operations in 1986. His brother, Sam, joined the company in 1987. In 1993, Steve established Coldwell Banker San Juan Islands, Inc. as a solely real estate sales company, with San Juan Properties then becoming solely a development company.

They have grown from a company that represented their customers in about $7,000,000 worth of listing and sales transactions in 1981 to over $122,000,000 in 2017. They have been through four real estate cycles since 1981, including the (not so) Great Recession, and have remained not only intact, but are now stronger than ever. They have a great crew of incredibly good, diverse and interesting people that are the primary reason for the success of the company.
