Morning Visitor

Margie Smith shares this photo of a visitor to their yard this morning. Here’s what she had to say:
Here’s a photo of the bear, (not very good quality I’m afraid, as it was through the window). This was our morning guest at the bird feeder. The feeder didn’t stand a chance!

Where was the location of the Black Bear? Did you call the Police as they have requested? Let’s hope they can get him off the Island in a peaceful way!
Thankfully SJIslanders are animal lovers, but this bear needs space and food that the island cannot provide. It needs to be relocated safely to the mainland where it will not become a nuisance bear or worse. Its never a good outcome for the bear when they are too close to humans. I am hopeful with all the publicity, that Fish & Wildlife from the mainland has been contacted to relocate him. Relocation happens all the time in Idaho where we live and is successful. For everyone’s benefit and safety, he needs a new home with some elbow room!
