Soroptimist International of Friday Harbor is well-known known for its educational awards and scholarships available to local women and girls.

They also supply ferry tickets to cancer patients and their caretakers traveling to the mainland for treatment, as well as a women’s emergency fund.

These and other Soroptimist programs provide vital assistance to our community.

Fundraising for these critical programs has been challenging this year due to COVID-19. After the St. Patrick’s Day dinner and auction had to be canceled, Soroptimist turned to an online auction system.

They are doing the same with this year’s raffle.

Currently, an online raffle, “The Best Raffle Ever” is happening on www.sifri.org. In other years, most raffle tickets were sold in person, at tables in the markets, which is also not possible at this time.

This raffle not only funds important programs but gives the purchaser of just one $25 ticket, 11 chances to win.

Beginning Jan. 6, every week for 10 weeks a drawing will take place for $100, and in the final week, the lucky winner will get a $500 prize. Your name could even be drawn more than once.

Since only 250 tickets will be sold, the odds are in your favor! Credit cards are accepted.

Help others in our community while taking a chance. Give a raffle ticket to a friend as a holiday gift!

Founded in 1996, the Friday Harbor club is part of Soroptimist International, a global organization that works to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. Our members join with almost 160,000 Soroptimists in about 120 countries and territories to contribute time and financial support to community-based projects benefiting women and girls.
