The San Juan County Economic Development Council invites entrepreneurs, business owners and community leaders to join in a free, five-week, intensive course in regenerative business design.
Led by renowned permaculture designer and educator Patty Love, the course will guide participants through the steps necessary to build – or rebuild – a sustainable business that reflects participants’ core values regarding the environment, society and more. This EDC course will be held online from 9 a.m.-noon May 17, May 25, June 1, June 8 and June 15.
Small business owners often consider how to run a profitable business while staying true to core values.
What do entrepreneurs need to know, consider, and plan for in order to launch a business that will have a high likelihood of success and a plan for handling failures and hurdles?
To help answer these questions, this five-week course will be led by Patty Love, certificated permaculture designer, educator and business management consultant.
In the course, Love will incorporate knowledge gained through her decade of permaculture study and practice, along with a formal education in business and twenty years of successful self-employment.
Fully participating in this course – including completing homework between classes and utilizing the tools developed – will empower participants to be prepared to put business plans into action. Students will receive an Earth Activist Training-issued certificate of completion which can be applied towards a Regenerative Land Management Diploma.
The course is designed for anyone who is ready to start a business based on the triple bottom line: people, profit and the planet; earth activists with skills in land management, leadership, or other fields who want to carve their own employment path as an entrepreneur; people ready to pursue their passions through self-employment; artists, creators, herbalists, and crafters who want to turn their hobby or second income into a business; self-employed business owners who need to regenerate their plan and get clearer with intention.
The course is open only to residents of San Juan County and space is extremely limited. Sign up by May 14 by visiting www.sanjuansedc.org/workshops or by emailing [email protected].
