When Josie & I went to see “Trying” this past weekend, we realized later that, at some level, we had seen the Island Stage Left show from three different angles. The show revolves around 81-year-old Francis Biddle’s slowly evolving relationship with his new secretary, 25-year-old Sarah Schorr from Saskatchewan. Let’s see what’s up… • Did you know that the San Juan Center for Skagit Valley College celebrated their 15th year since the building above the airport opened? It was terrible news to wake up to – that Sharon Hammel had passed away in a fire at her house early Sunday morning. You knew Sharon – she worked for the Town and was responsible for making us look so good – the flowers she watered all spring & summer, the plants, the greenspaces. Continue Reading

On Sunday morning at 2:11am, a 9-1-1 call to the Sheriff’s Dispatch reported “a structure fire with a person trapped inside” in the 1000 block of Park Street in Friday Harbor, Washington. Great day for running yesterday morning as nearly eighty women collected in front of the Hotel De Haro at Roche Harbor for this year’s Run Ladies Run 10K.
