Amy Traxler from the Network has more: The San Juan County Marine Mammal Stranding Network (SJCMMSN) is currently recruiting volunteers on all islands in preparation for the upcoming stranding season. You know, this is really fun if you’ve never been. My family has been going to the Labs for nearly 16 summers now, and we’ll go tomorrow, too. It’s from 11am-4pm. There’s food (and popcorn, prepped by Dennis Willows) & experiments & sea animals (left) and…well, it’s fun. See ya there! -oo-

Erin Corra tells me something like 100-125 folks showed up last weekend for the History of the Lighthouse deal at Lime Kiln State Park. She’s the interpretive specialist there, and she offers lighthouse tours each weekend and more at the park. She’s funny, engaging, and nice to learn stuff from – check it out! The Continue Reading
