There are several ways to like the San Juan Island Historical Museum, and even more reasons….

First is their cool new website, launched this summer, which gives you a nice overview of the Museum’s projects & direction, and good reasons to visit. (Here it is!)

It’s a cool place to hang out, during the Fourth of July activities & for the summer’s Music on the Lawn series by Island Rec…and at last weekend’s fundraiser on Saturday evening. I hadn’t taken the time to properly visit all the exhibits & outbuildings, and now I’m glad I did. It’s the perfect thing to do to help you appreciate the work & effort that went into making this Town, and island, what it is today.

Get over & visit, soon.

And there’s more: On Friday night at 6:30pm at the Library, museum director Kevin Loftus & library director Laura Tretter will show what they found when islanders shared their family heirlooms for an online digital collection depicting the stories of San Juan Island’s history.

See ya there!
