On Friday night, the Wolverine boys thumped visiting Orcas 61-44 behind a stingy defense & opportunistic shooting. The score wasn’t that close either – FHHS was ahead 55-29 near the end of the third quarter. Saturday, the Wolverines had a tough time with Lynden Christian at their place, losing 54-46 (here’s more).

The guys return to action on Wednesday when Meridian comes to the island.

Meanwhile, the high-flying FHHS girls jumped out ahead of previously unbeaten Orcas 16-7, before the Vikings snuck back into the game to edge ahead 23-22 in the second half. It was a game of two & three point lead changes before the teams wrestled into overtime, where the Wolverines iced it 40-37. The next day, Lynden Christian brought the girls back down to earth with a 55-22 result. The girls take on Concrete at their gym next Friday.

  1. It was amazing. At the end of regulation time in the girls game, people in the crowd were getting out cell phones to tell other people they were going to be late because they couldn’t leave the gym. Go Wolverines!
