Update: Interim principal interviews

Three candidates have been selected for interviews for the interim principal position -here’s more from the superintendent’s office:

Here is the outline of next Tuesday’s interviews. More detailed bios will follow – in short:

Christy Collins served as a teacher, elementary principal, and special education coordinator in the Lake Washington School District.

Marc Vermeire is a teacher at FHHS who has served in the roles of athletic director, assistant principal, and teacher in this district, and also served as an administrator on Lopez last year.

Connie Martin is currently a middle school assistant principal in Auburn.  She has been an elementary teacher and a instructional facilitator in Auburn. She also served in the Clover Park School District in Tacoma.

Part I:  Conversation with staff held in the FHES staff room (not open to the public).  Each candidate will have the opportunity to provide an overview of their qualifications and experience as well as a question and answer time with staff members.

Part II:  Conversation with community members held in the FHES Library (open to the public).  Each candidate will have an opportunity to provide an overview of their qualification and experience as well as a question and answer time for staff.

Please note:

Staff and community will have an opportunity to evaluate each candidate using a written feedback form.  All comments will be forwarded to the search committee.  Public comment will also be taken until 8:00 am on June 1 through the district’s website at [email protected]. More detailed bios of each candidate will be available on Tuesday.

The search committee will reconvene from 8:00 to 11:00 am on June 1 to review feedback and consider making a job offer.
