•  This week you’ll start getting used to the idea that The Sound of Music starts its two week run this Thursday (got your tickets?).

In the meantime, I wanted you to know islander James Krall is living & teaching in Fairbanks, Alaska, where he just finished performing in a well-received production of Misalliance – you’ll get a good feel for it from this review, which says he does good work!

The show’s run ended this past weekend….

• Emily Reed just wrote to tell me about this special film at the IMA:

The premiere of the short film “Anna Skibska” will take place at San Juan Islands Museum of Art, 235 A Street in Friday Harbor on Friday, May 11, at the open house  from 5:00 to 7:00pm.

Skibska, of Seattle, will be present for the showings of this 11-minute film, inspired by her current exhibition at IMA: “Anna, Anna Skibska.” Filmed by Elan Video’s Karen Woldtvedt, who co-edited it with Skibska, it expresses the artist’s vision and voice in the format of creative documentary.  More details are available at www.sjima.org
