It's Saturday!

Here’s the word from Jan Bollwinkel-Smith about this annual free deal for kids at the Community Theatre:

Teddy Bear Picnic Returns May 19
Island youngsters get to cuddle their favorite “teddy” during CATS’ annual Teddy Bear Picnic on Saturday, May 19.

The FREE event from noon to 2:00 in San Juan Community Theatre’s patio garden and Gubelman Room features face painting, crafts projects, refreshments and, of course, teddy bears!

This year, Merritt Olsen, retiring SJCT executive director, and local musician Kirk Fuhrmeister (Isle Be Jammin’) will be providing the entertainment.

The refreshments will include PB & J or grilled cheese sandwiches, fruit, juice and cookies in the shape of bears.

Each child also receives a complimentary stuffed bear from CATS and a book from the Early Learning Consortium and Critical Needs Task Force.
