San Juan Island Grange #966 is sponsoring a program on Robert’s Rules of Order, Thursday March 21, 2013 at the Grange Hall; the program begins at 7pm, preceded by a potluck at 6pm—all are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Mike Vouri, Chief Interpreter and Historian at the San Juan Island National Historical Park, will present a brief biography of Henry Martyn Robert, including his role in the Pig War and the construction of the Redoubt at American Camp.

Ralph Hahn, a longtime educator who is currently a member of the San Juan Island School Board and past President of the San Juan County Economic Development Council as well as a former member of the Island Rec Board, will discuss the whys and wherefores of the Rules, including a succinct explanation of their structure.

Whether you are an active member of one of our numerous local organizations or just simply interested in how Robert determined to bring an order to civic meetings, you won’t want to miss this!
