FANS Donates $1,400 for Learn to Swim Scholarships

FANS (Families and Neighbors Support Island Rec) is proud to announce its first donation in 2013 of $1,400 to Island Rec’s Learn to Swim Program. These funds will provide swim lessons to 47 island children. Later this year, FANS will be donating $500 to this summer’s “Music on the Lawn” series, as well as sponsoring Island Rec’s much anticipated free, outdoor “Movies in the Park” series debuting this September.
As one of the newest nonprofits on the island, FANS’ mission is to enhance park and recreation facilities and programs for San Juan Island residents by promoting goodwill and broadening the funding base of Island Rec.
