March Against Coal in the Parade

Islanders for Safe Shipping in the San Juans are expecting a large turnout of people marching in the 4th of July Parade against the proposed Coal Terminal at Cherry Point in Bellingham, and would like to hear from you if you’re interested in participating.

  • 25 informative sign carriers
  • 1 large black coal ship, length 32 feet, carried by people (see photo below)
  • 2 washington state ferries (to scale – 5 feet)
  • 1 50 ft. long oil spill children bringing up the rear,
  • followed by adults with Calls to Action
