Food-rich oases at the seafloor: The ecology of whale falls – This event has been cancelled.
Whale falls produce remarkable organic- and sulfide-rich habitat islands at the seafloor. The past decade has seen a dramatic increase in studies of modern and fossil whale remains, yielding exciting new insights into whale-fall ecosystems. Click here for more info.
Easter Island: 15,000 Years of Discoveries – Wednesday, August 6 at 7:00 pm
Candace Gossen, PhD, is an environmental archaeologist, architect, plant medicine teacher and just a girl that likes to dig in the dirt and climb trees. Recently returned from Easter Island, she has new and exciting information to share. Click here for more info.
“Coffee & Conversation” – Thursday, August 7 from 9am – 10am. If you haven’t been to the Museum lately, this is a great time to come in. Hosted by executive director Jenny Atkinson, participants will be invited to enjoy light refreshments while getting to know the Museum better. Click here for more info.
