Board Members Needed

Posted February 22, 2017 at 5:48 am by

The San Juan Island Food Cooperative board is seeking business-minded members of our community to serve as board members. The current board feels the coop is at a place where infrastructure expansion and operations growth are imminent, and having board members with business and/or professional background will better prepare the coop for these challenges. There are three board seats opening up at this next election cycle.

The San Juan Island Food Co-op strives to provide access to local and regional food and goods that are organic, sustainable and fairly produced with the smallest carbon footprint. The Co-op encourages conscientious consumption and nurtures community connections.

The volunteer board meets monthly on the third-Monday, and the meetings last around 2-hours. The Annual Meeting and elections are held in late March. The co-op is fiscally healthy, doing well in its mission, and serves an important role in our community.

If you are interested in helping with this organization’s success, feel free to contact any of the current board members below:

  • Shelle Cropper, Chair, slls [@] interisland.net
  • Eliza Habagger, Vice Chair
  • Sasha Von Dossow, Treasurer, sasha.von.dassow [@] gmail.com
  • Desiree Nabong, Secretary, desarray [@] gmail.com
  • Lori Ann David, la [@] lorianndavid.com
  • Samantha Dillingham, dillingham.samantha [@] gmail.com
  • Matt Marinkovich, thinkfish [@] rockisland.com

Those interested in running for a board position must submit via email to the Chair, a 250 word bio/candidate statement, which will be submitted with the Coop’s election package to the membership. All board members must be a member of the Co-op.

Thank you for your consideration in contributing to the San Juan Island Food Cooperative.

Sincerely,
San Juan Island Food Cooperative Board
