The middle school students from the Shaw Island School won a statewide earthquake preparedness video contest. So inspiring the way their entire school community has embraced emergency preparedness!

Indeed, more than 1,300 islanders participated in last week’s ShakeOut earthquake exercise- the most ever. That includes school districts, government departments, businesses, non-profits, and families and individuals. Thanks to everyone who signed up and spent a few minutes thinking about getting ready for the inevitable quake.
