Cheesecake Cafe & Bakery on the Friday Harbor waterfront – SJ Update photo

The Cheesecake Cafe and Bakery, located in the heart of the waterfront in Friday Harbor, is the Chamber’s Featured Member of the Month.

Opening at 6:30 every day, they serve full breakfast and don’t forget about the cheesecake! It is a very casual environment, where one can sit down next to a stranger and make a friend while enjoying a cup of their custom Salish Sunrise coffee blend.

Also featured is the hand battered fish and chips at the Fish+Brew location. It is located directly between the Cheesecake Cafe and the ferry landing. According to Margie and Emily “it is such a joy to share this beautiful space with visitors and our locals”.

Margie has been in business for herself for 20 years, with her main location being in the Anacortes Ferry Landing. When she lost her contract 3 years ago Emily moved home from Hawaii to join forces to expand the cafe into a full running kitchen and bakery.

Moving just to the other side of the Ferry Landing they worked for three months at the beginning of 2017 to make this space homey to share with everyone. With local wood from here on the island to Margie’s personal cookie jar collection displayed here at the Cafe, they sure do feel right at home on the waterfront.

  1. Cheesecake Cafe! Margie made my many visits last summer so welcoming. The view is amazing and the windows looking out to said views made me feel as tho’ I was in a cabin on the sea. I was a coffee and muffin kinda gal 🥰
I miss it! Pam, from Arkansas
