Finally, it is time to vote! The Mullis Center needs your vote November 8 – 11.

If you are a senior, 60 years old or older, or disabled, and live in San Juan District including San Juan, Henry, Brown, Spieden, Stuart, Johns, Pearl, and Flat Top islands, you are eligible to vote. You DO NOT have to be a paid member of the Mullis Center to vote.

You will need ID that proves your age and residency, or disability. You can vote in person at the Mullis Center (589 Nash Street) during the period of November 8-11, 2021, on Monday through Thursday, from 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM.

If you are a member of the Mullis Center and receive the Senior Signal Newsletter in the mail, you will find a mail-in ballot with your newsletter. You can also download your ballot from the Mullis Center website.

You must include a copy of your ID proving your age and residency, or disability, with your ballot. Mail in ballots must be received by 3:30 pm on Thursday, November 11, 2021. Please send them to: Mullis Community Senior Center, Attn. Elections, and PO BOX 684, Friday Harbor, WA 98250.

Voting is for the 15 seats on the District Committee. The committee represents the needs and interests of San Juan District’s seniors and disabled persons. This committee acts in an oversight capacity to Mullis Center management and in an advisory capacity to County Senior Services management. They provide fiscal and fiduciary oversight of the District and its senior center.

Committee members attend monthly meetings plus any special meetings. Due to Covid-19 the meetings have been conducted using Zoom. Qualified candidates need to have basic technical skills and devices to facilitate meeting online.

We are very lucky and blessed to live in a community where we have so many excellent candidates to choose from. However, in voting please be cautious. There is misinformation going around. Please refer to the Mullis Center website or the Senior Signal newsletter for reliable information.
