Best of the Fest films for Feb. 12–18
Posted February 10, 2022 at 10:41 am by Jeff Arnim
The Friday Harbor Film Festival’s Best of the Fest series presents one feature-length documentary along with one or two shorter documentary films each week in February. The films are streamed on demand. For the week of Feb. 12 to 18, FHFF is showing Mission:Joy and My Invisible Husband.
FHFF shared with the Update a preview of each film.
Mission: Joy
Featuring His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Mission: Joy – Finding Happiness in Troubled Times is a documentary with unprecedented access to the unlikely friendship of two international icons who transcend religion. In their final joint mission, these self-described mischievous brothers give a master class in how to create joy in a world that was never easy for them. They offer neuroscience-backed wisdom to help each of us live with more joy.
My Invisible Husband
When Dr. Shelley Lynch, a highly regarded mental health counselor, was forced to directly confront the reality of her husband’s sudden death, she heard a voice. That voice was her late husband Roy, letting her know she had a very special mission – to go out and get herself a camera and start taking pictures. She had no idea at the time what journey of self-discovery the camera would take her on. With Roy by her side and an open heart, the film explores the magical connection Shelley has with the wildlife she photographs.
Tickets for both films can be purchased through the FHFF website.
