Soccer season ends with 7-0 loss at Lynden Christian

When Lynden Christian swept past the Friday Harbor Wolverines 7-0, they won themselves a matchup with defending state champions King’s later this week. The best time to sign up for soccer for this fall is this weekend at the Children’s Festival – drop by the San Juan Soccer Association’s booth at the Fairgrounds to sign up your kid (from kindergarten to eighth grade) between 10am & 2pm. For more info, call Sherri at 317-8335. -oo-

Last night the FHHS baseball boys continued their winning ways with a 15-1 victory at LaConner, while the softball girls came up with a gutsy four-run last inning that fell short with the Braves, losing 8-4. Just received this note from schools superintendent Michael Soltman….as you know, the school board cut the funding for school-funded sports last week. Now, the schools are looking for another entity to work with on this, so they’re getting a campaign ready to reach their goals, with Island Rec.
