Here’s a recap of this year’s Film Festival…

Thank You to all of our spon­sors, sup­port­ers, vol­un­teers, patrons, and film­mak­ers! You made the 2017 Fri­day Har­bor Film Fes­ti­val a success!

The fifth annu­al Fri­day Har­bor Film Fes­ti­val scored anoth­er great week­end of high­ly rat­ed doc­u­men­tary films and excit­ed audi­ences. The week­end began with the Open­ing Night Film­mak­ers Gala at the San Juan Com­mu­ni­ty The­atre, com­plete with won­der­ful food and drink, fol­lowed by a mov­ing program.

Mem­bers of the Samish Nation deliv­ered a heart­felt invo­ca­tion in cel­e­bra­tion of the screen­ing of Maid­en of Decep­tion Pass, and in hon­or of the 2017 Andrew V. McLa­glen Life­time Achieve­ment win­ner Elouise Cobell. The award was pre­sent­ed posthu­mous­ly to her nieces Cher and Joey Cobell, fol­lowed by the screen­ing of the film doc­u­ment­ing her life; “100 Years, One Woman’s Fight for Justice.”
