Here’s a recap of this year’s Film Festival…

Thank You to all of our sponsors, supporters, volunteers, patrons, and filmmakers! You made the 2017 Friday Harbor Film Festival a success!

The fifth annual Friday Harbor Film Festival scored another great weekend of highly rated documentary films and excited audiences. The weekend began with the Opening Night Filmmakers Gala at the San Juan Community Theatre, complete with wonderful food and drink, followed by a moving program.

Members of the Samish Nation delivered a heartfelt invocation in celebration of the screening of Maiden of Deception Pass, and in honor of the 2017 Andrew V. McLaglen Lifetime Achievement winner Elouise Cobell. The award was presented posthumously to her nieces Cher and Joey Cobell, followed by the screening of the film documenting her life; “100 Years, One Woman’s Fight for Justice.”
