Eventide Health Introduces A New Telemedicine Option

Posted March 17, 2020 at 5:48 pm by

Eventide Health, formerly San Juan Healthcare, is pleased to announce our new Telemedicine option available immediately for all established patients. This will allow you to connect to one of our providers from anywhere in the world as long as you have an internet connection. We offer this service through VSee which is a HIPPA compliant video conferencing resource used by thousands of patients across the country.

We had planned on rolling out this service in May but COVID-19 forced our hand at bit. As such, we expect some challenges along the way. For the first few weeks of roll out there will likely be an evolution with scheduling as we learn on the fly how best to manage this with our in-clinic patient schedule. Rest assured we will do our best to meet with you in our online virtual clinic in a timely manner.

Your Telemedicine visit will be billed in the same way that a clinic visit would, whether through insurance or Medicare or Medicaid. If you are self-pay the cost will be $50 for basic visits. We will slowly roll out other options via Telemedicine that will be available at an increased cost (mental health visits, for instance).

What sort of visits will be appropriate? Obviously, with Telemedicine we can’t perform a physical exam in the same way that we can in person. Sometimes we’ll ask that you present to the clinic or even the ER if necessary. The types of visits that lend themselves well to Telemedicine could include (but not limited to) infections, skin conditions, stomachache, rashes, stress, anxiety, certain respiratory problems, nutrition and wellness or expert medical opinion including medication management. Clearly, each visit will be taken on a case by case basis. As with any TeleHealth company around the world we will do our best to give you appropriate, efficient care wherever you are. We’ll strive to give you the same excellent care you’ve come to expect at Eventide Health.

Our next phase will involve additional providers and expanding this service regionally/statewide.

To access the service you’ll need to download the app from VSee to your phone or tablet (available in iOS and Android) or to your computer (which must be equipped with a webcam).

Once loaded you can call our office to set up scheduling.

Online self-scheduling will be announced soon.
