Island Rec Cancellations
Posted May 5, 2020 at 8:56 am by Tim Dustrude
The San Juan Island Park and Recreation District commissioners have made the difficult decision to cancel all in-person programs and events for summer 2020 based on Governor Jay Inslee’s ‘Stay Home, Stay Healthy’ order and his four phases of reopening, in addition to Washington State Department of Health guidelines.
The health and safety of our community has always remained paramount within our programs and events and continues to remain our steadfast compass in making difficult decisions. We genuinely recognize how important recreation is to our community and we are working diligently to explore opportunities to provide modified programs both virtually and in person when it is safe to do so.
In early June we will update the community about a variety of new virtual programs that we can safely offer so please watch for that information. We appreciate your patience and we truly look forward to the day when we can all come together again to enjoy the many programs and events we offer that make San Juan Island such a wonderful and connected community.
