  • The San Juan County Department of Emergency Management is looking for housing for 10-20 emergency responders arriving on San Juan Island tomorrow to work on the recovery of the sunken Aleutian Isle fishing vessel. Some responders only need to stay for one night; others might be on the island for up to two weeks. If have you an empty house that you’d be willing to rent that can sleep four or more people, contact the Emergency Management office at 360-370-7612.
  • The San Juan Island Garden Club’s September meeting takes place on Tuesday the 6th from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Mullis Center. The club will have a short business meeting to go over the calendar for the year.
  • Friday Harbor High School’s Nathan Posenjak has been selected to the 1B/2B all-state baseball team for 2022.
  • BooBoo and her canine companion Barry could use some help with emergency veterinary expenses.
  • San Juan County is updating its Coordinated Public Transit-Human Services Transportation Plan. If you or someone you know has difficulty traveling within the County, you’re encouraged to complete the HSTP survey.
  • Here are the week’s specials at Market Place and Kings.
