In Chicago, they schedule Cubs games at Wrigley in the middle of the day for two reasons: One, that’s when baseball is supposed to be played, and two, then people can skip work & go watch ’em. Thursday afternoon there was a power outage which darkened the electric scoreboard during the game, but Friday Harbor didn’t have a power outage as they rode a complete game effort by senior pitcher Albert Strasser (in photo) to a 14-4 win over a strong Nooksack Valley team. Last night the FHHS baseball team continued their winning ways as pitchers Albert Strasser and Sean Cutting combined for a 7-0 shutout over South Whidbey (which is a 2A team; we, you’ll remember, are 1A)… meanwhile, Kerri Goff went the whole way but the Wolverine Women lost to South Whidbey, 5-0. Now, the schools are looking for another entity to work with on this, so they’re getting a campaign ready to reach their goals, with Island Rec.
