FHHS coach Rich Warin says the game is at noon on Sat­ur­day — the fundrais­er helps sup­port Hart­man Field. There will be ham­burg­ers and hot dogs for sale plus home­made good­ies. In Chica­go, they sched­ule Cubs games at Wrigley in the mid­dle of the day for two rea­sons: One, that’s when base­ball is sup­posed to be played, and two, then peo­ple can skip work & go watch ’em.   Thurs­day after­noon there was a pow­er out­age which dark­ened the elec­tric score­board dur­ing the game, but Fri­day Har­bor did­n’t have a pow­er out­age as they rode a com­plete game effort by senior pitch­er Albert Strass­er (in pho­to) to a 14–4 win over a strong Nook­sack Val­ley team. As Fri­day Har­bor base­ball con­tin­ues its trek to the top, they con­tin­ue to look pret­ty dom­i­nat­ing. Last night the FHHS base­ball team con­tin­ued their win­ning ways as pitch­ers Albert Strass­er and Sean Cut­ting com­bined for a 7–0 shutout over South Whid­bey (which is a 2A team; we, you’ll remem­ber, are 1A)… mean­while, Ker­ri Goff went the whole way but the Wolver­ine Women lost to South Whid­bey, 5–0. Just received this note from schools super­in­ten­dent Michael Soltman.…as you know, the school board cut the fund­ing for school-fund­ed sports last week. Now, the schools are look­ing for anoth­er enti­ty to work with on this, so they’re get­ting a cam­paign ready to reach their goals, with Island Rec.
