Kathryn (Katie) Loring has filed to stand for election to continue serving our community as San Juan County Superior Court Judge. Governor Jay Inslee appointed her to the court in 2017, and she wants to carry on her work for access to justice for all members of the San Juan County community as judge.

Loring brings diverse legal experience to the bench. She clerked for the Washington Supreme Court, practiced in both small and large law firms and served as a pro tem Superior Court Commissioner for more than a year before her appointment.

Loring is committed to maintaining a court environment where participants understand the legal process and feel they are heard and respected. “I am honored to serve the people of San Juan County as Superior Court Judge,” said Loring. “I appreciate the great responsibility of the position and I strive every day to uphold and apply our state’s laws with diligence, impartiality and compassion to the people who come before the court.”

Loring’s endorsements include recently-retired Superior Court Judge Donald Eaton and Washington Supreme Court Chief Justice Mary Fairhurst.
