Written on April 26, 2009 at 3:19 am, by

In Chicago, they schedule Cubs games at Wrigley in the middle of the day for two reasons: One, that’s when baseball is supposed to be played, and two, then people can skip work & go watch ’em. Today, you can too – the Friday Harbor Wolverines baseball team plays at 2:45pm here against Orcas at  Continue Reading

Why our food program is so good….

Written on April 23, 2009 at 6:29 am, by

One of the reasons that Chef Tom French’s Experience Food Project has been so successful is that the food is…good. For people who don’t believe that “school lunch” and “good” should be used in the same sentence, the question pops up: Why skimp on school meals (or feed low-cost, high-crap lunches?) In Yes! magazine, Chef  Continue Reading

As Friday Harbor baseball continues its trek to the top, they continue to look pretty dominating. Written on April 1, 2009 at 3:17 pm, by

Earlier this week, the state House & Senate released their budgets for the year. Both of them take incredible whacks into an already crippled education budget.
