Women’s March Friday Harbor

There was a very large turnout for the Women’s March in Friday Harbor today. Men, women, children, babies and dogs marched in support of the Women’s March on Washington D.C. and hundreds of other similar marches across the country and around the world.  Estimates put the number of participants at 1,500 to 1,800 hundred. Islanders for Safe Shipping

Over 150 people came to San Juan County Park on MLK day to oppose the Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain Pipeline project. If the pipeline is allowed as proceed as proposed it will increase the tanker shipping in Haro Straits from 5 tankers a month to 34 tankers and three barges per month.
