Washington State Ferries is temporarily reducing service on the Anacortes/San Juan Islands route beginning Friday, April 10, due to the M/V Samish being out of service due to needed rudder repairs. Washington State Ferries will extend its current winter sailing schedule through the end of next month due to declines in ridership from COVID-19. The spring sailing schedule will now tentatively begin on April 26 rather than March 29. Customers should continue following the winter schedule. WSF Offering Ticket Refunds and Suspending No-Show Fees

While WSF cannot extend the 90-day period for tickets and travel passes, customers who are unable to use tickets or travel passes because of COVID-19 concerns may be eligible for a refund for the unused portion of their fare. Construction in Anacortes May Slow Down Ferry Traffic

Winter Ferry Schedule in Effect

Washington State Ferries’ winter schedule begins Sunday, January 5, and is in effect through Saturday, March 28. Service between Anacortes, Friday Harbor and Sidney, B.C. is suspended for the winter. The Washington State Ferries Fall 2019 Sailing Schedule goes into effect on Sunday, September 29th. You can pick-up a hard copy at the ferry terminals, on the vessels, view it online or use the ferry schedule portion of the WSF app to plan your trip. Apparently no bomb was found – they’re loading for Anacortes. Here’s the official word from WSF: M/V Elwha has been cleared to sail and normal operations will resume as soon as possible. Supplemental sailings will be added to help accommodate passengers going to Friday Harbor and returning to Anacortes.

Bomb Squad Arrives

By now you probably know there was a bomb threat this afternoon aboard the Elwha. All ferry service to and from Friday Harbor has been suspended until the ferry can be cleared.
